In an osteoarthritic knee, inflammatory cytokines (“bad” proteins) outnumber anti-inflammatory cytokines (“good” proteins) causing an imbalance resulting in knee pain and cartilage degeneration.11
The inflammatory proteins IL-1 and TNFa signal to the cartilage for further imbalanced degradation.11 Further release of cartilage increases the inflammatory signal to the knee synovium causing pain. These “bad” proteins must be stopped to decrease pain and slow cartilage degeneration.
The nSTRIDE® treatment introduces high levels of “good” proteins (IL-1ra, sIL-1R, sTNF-RI, and sTNF-RII)10 that block the inflammatory cytokines (bad proteins) IL-1 and TNFa.15^ Studies have shown that nSTRIDE® decreases the levels of inflammatory (bad) proteins and in turn decrease pain and improve function. In laboratory and animal studies, nSTRIDE® has been shown to mitigate cartilage degeneration.3^,4,14
While balance is being restored to the knee, anabolic (building) growth factors (IGF-1 and TGF-1) are also introduced for beneficial cartilage health.10 Therefore, nSTRIDE® creates a therapy, which reduce pain in the knee joint and improve overall joint function.4^
This Autologous Anti-Inflammatory treatment is provided in a single session in the doctor’s office.
